CODE OF CONDUCT:

 

1. All the users entering the library shall keep their bags and other belongings at the entrance. Do not leave any valuables at the checkpoint. The library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings. All files, books and notebooks must be presented to the security guard at the checkpoint for inspection while leaving the library. The library does not permit any exception to the observance of this rule. 

 

2. Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.

 

3. Books removed from the shelves by the users should be kept on the book trolley or on the table nearest to them after use. Please do not try to shelve books by yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.

 

4. The newspaper(s) should be read in the designated place and be folded properly after reading.

 

5. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she shall be charged the full replacement cost of the resource as per rule. Books Borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.

 

6. Library Card is not transferable.

 

7. Before collecting the hall ticket, all the dues of the library must be cleared and NO DUE CERTIFICATE has to be collected.

 

8. Conversation and discussion disturb library patrons. Therefore, all are requested to maintain a dignified silence.

 

9. All users are requested to keep their mobiles switched off or in silent mode in the Learning Resource Centre.

 

10. Beverages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.

 

11. No visitor or guest is permitted to use the Library without the prior permission of the Librarian. She/he is required to produce a proper introduction letter from the concerned Institution/Organization to which he/she is attached.

 

12. No photograph of the Library shall be taken without the prior permission of the Librarian.

 

13. The library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.

 

14. All the rules, terms & conditions as mentioned in the Library Manual are subject to change from time to time with due approval from the Librarian.

 

 RULES FOR USING OF ELECTRONIC RESOURCES:

 

Not Permitted:

 

  1. Use of robots or intelligent agents to do systematic, bulk or automatic downloading.

  2. Systematic downloading or printing of entire Journal issues or volumes, or large portions of other- resource.

  3. Using e-resource for commercial gain is reselling

  4. Transmitting, dissemination or otherwise making online content available to unauthorized users (i.e. sending to mailing lists or electronic bulletin boards)

 

Permitted:

 

  1. Posting the URL to the publisher’s version of the article on a class website (publisher links will allow only authorized user access)

  2. Sending a copy of an article to another authorized user (i.e. current faculty, students and staff).

  3. Using E-resources for study and research purposes.

  4. Viewing, downloading copying, printing and saving individual articles

  5. Viewing, downloading, copying, Printing and saving a copy of search results.
