About SKAC:
It offers UG programs with an innovative and creative curriculum and has been enabling multi-disciplinary research opportunities through its research programmes. Founded in 1980 as JSSSN by a group of eminent entrepreneurs and educationists with years of experience, it has to foster human development through excellence in quality Education, Research vision and Entrepreneurial Development. It has been drawing students from different districts of Karnataka Hangal. It has been accredited by NAAC with a grade of "B" in the year 2016
About Resource Centre:
SKAC Resource Centre welcomes you to the Learning Resource Centre. It has a comprehensive collection of literature predominantly related to Arts and Commerce and its allied subjects to meet the information needs of its users.
The library is the soul of any institution. It is a centre for acquiring, processing and disseminating information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. SKAC Resource Centre has well-trained staff and an automated library system to enrich the user community with a wide range of academic resources such as books, periodicals, back volumes, CDs/DVDs, Project Reports, Audio/video cassettes and Question Bank.
The Resource Centre is computerized using "KOHA", an integrated library software package for Digital The library has a total collection of more than 34466 books and also non-book material (Back Volumes of Journals, Project Reports and non-book materials etc). OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) allows users to search all materials (such as Books, Journals, Magazines, Digital material etc.) available in the Resource Centre collection. The Library has the institutional membership of the British Library to fulfil the information needs of users. To fulfil the need for teaching and research work the College is also supported by online resources such as INFLBNET N-List.
Five Laws of Library Science:
Dr Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan, the father of Library Science formulated the five laws of Library Science in 1928
